I recently purchased this card
XFX PVT44AWANG GeForce 6200 256MB 64-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card

and when I installed it it was working until I ran a benchmark test...it started off great and then
died on about the third test. The computer rebooted and then it would not recognize the card.
Long story short I removed the card because it had a minimum power supply requirement of 250w
and my Netvista 8310-1au only has a 185w power supply. Reading up on this weak p.s. showed
that it is a pain in the butt to replace it, not a simple plug and play.

My question is: Is there a card I can use without upgrading my power supply? I am tempted to buy
this one but I don't want to have to return it again.

ASUS N6200/TD/128 GeForce 6200 128MB 64-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Low Profile Video Card

My specs:
1.8 GHz P4
1.5 Gig of ram
On board video
185w power supply

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Shame that's not great.Sorry to hear about your problems.I think you're going to battle to find a decent card to play games that'll require less than the 185W. It'd be better to try and upgrade the PSU.

There's the GeForce MX 4000 for example. It's good enough for Diablo 2 or movies, and a good match for your CPU and PSU. Anything better than that will probably need a new PSU. Sorry...

Thanks for the replies, and the sympathy :-) I got the computer free and just had to get it fixed ($45) and I was hoping just to upgrade the memory and video card to have a decent computer for older games. I'll check out the GeForce MX 4000....unfortunately the PSU in the netvista is a pain to replace, something about changing pin configurations...don't really want to go there.

Thanks for the replies, I'll see what I can do.
