Computer startup problems

my computer keeps shutting off after it tries to start up. If I hit the safe mode quickly it will go through a total RESTORE cycle each time. This is not normal and I don't know what to do with it...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...Virus Detector is not finding anything.

Have you tried running a windows recovery cd to see if it detects any issues?
