My computer system consists of 2 2900 xt's in crossfire, dell 3007 wfpcp or w/e the 30 inch monitor which has an hdcp cable. Anyways I just bought a dual format blu ray disc/ hd dvd player and i have power dvd deluxe edition which supports both. Everytime I try to play pirates of the carribean 3 it plays it for 3 seconds beautifully and then it gives me an error telling me to run some program from power dvd's site which checks whether my computer meets the requirements in order to play the movie(which it does by a long shot). Then I run the program and it says my driver is out of date( i have 7.11 catalyst/display drivers with the latest AVIVO). And it also says my monitor is hdcp compliant. I was wondering if someone could help me out with this problem as I am using the 1 D-DVI cable that came with my monitor.
Are you sure you meat ALL the requirements? Have you looked for a Vista 64bit patch? I would try downgrading to 7.10 or 7.8 and see if those drivers work. I'd also try disabling CF to see if that helps.

i tried disabling cf and it didnt help any but I havent downgraded to any other drivers. Btw I have a new perdicament. Windows kept on asking for the drivers for the player so i told it to stop asking and now the drive is off the list of choices so all i have is my other dvd drive on the list. Any clue how to put it back on? lol.......
The problems are probably related. You didn't give a model number/name, so I can't help in the search if I even wanted to. Keep looking around until you find the driver. Scan in the hardware manager for the drive to make it show up again. If that doesn't work, power down and unplug the drive. (data and power cables) Power it back up, boot into windows, then shut down again. Plug the drive back in, and windows should see it now.

the drive is in the device manager it just isnt under the disk drives, it is under other devices and doesnt show up with the rest of the drives in my computer.
I think it might be an issue with dual monitors and HDCP. Even without a second monitor attached, because the output is there, HDCP might not allow it to work. His solution would be one thats doable. Get an updated copy of anydvd HD, and if its your problem, you should be good. I know you aren't trying to do anything sneaky, but thats the way it is sometimes.
