I read the topic about the best card for the money.....

It says that around the $220 range the Radeon HD3870 is the best deal but I can't find the card for less than $269 !!
I found the Radeon HD3850 but my question is....
I can get a Sapphire HD3850 256mb for $179.00 and Sapphire HD3850 512mb for $199.00...
So really If my budget goes up to $220... whats the best price/performance ratio ???
Is it still the HD3870 ??? Where can I get it for $220 ?

Yeah most vendors are selling them for more now, supply and demand is at work here. The hd3850 would be your best bet (256 MB DDR3) unless of course if you plan on gaming at higher resolutions with AA and AF turned on.

Not really in a rush for a video card. I'd rather wait and get 3870 for $220 then pay $260 now. Still seems like AMD overproduced 3850, or it's just the demand is high for 3870s. I googled it, and found that they promised to increase the production of 3870, still newegg doesn't even advertise them anywhere. Another mistep for AMD, they have to get production straight pretty soon, orherwise people will forget about this card once new nvidea comes out.

Really ? so the extra $20 to make it a 512MB card aren't worth ??? no performance gain there?

As of last week best buy was selling the 387 for $215 with free shipping. I bought one then, so I'd continuously check them out.
