Well, I ordered my motherboard and all that good stuff. Well found out the P4 is different than the NEW LGA775 setup! I have a 3 yr old P4 which was a LGA775 socket. Now I order my new board and thouht about using the same P4 processor however it does not fit! My P4 has pin's and the new board has a different lay out?!

Can someone recommend a LGA775 processor for around or under 200$ please? I would like to get it ordered and over night it so I can have my pc back by the weekend. Thanks all

Core 2 duo? thanks!

The old P4 was socket 478. The newer P4s were LGA775.

E6750

It will also trash your P4. P4 doesn't compare to Core 2. A Core 2 at 1.6 GHz would beat that 3.0 GHz P4.
