What do you guys think about this list?

I usually build a new system more or less every 3 years. Thats why i went with DDR3 and a Mobo that'll support the Penryns coming out next year.

The Republic of Gamers is proposing a $2.1 trillion military budget to Congress... ;)

There's a new 512MB 8800GTS coming out for less & faster speed than GTX. ETA may be end of next week.

I'm waiting for the Dems to talk you into downsizing the budget to P35 specs.

Help me out here guys. Im still indecisive about everything.

Only things i dont want to change is the X38 chipset and the q66 of course.

What im most afraid of is 2 years from now being stuck with ddr2...... and a mobo with both ddr2 and 3 is not an option...... i dont want two or three useless slots from an obsolete hardware a couple of years from now. :(

Your system is gonna be old in a few months, even if you buy DDR3.

Wouldn't buy DDR3 at this moment (it's to expensive and doesn't give that much more preformance) I think its better to buy some more DDR2 memory

If you want to stick to the X38 you can always buy one that supports DDR2
- Asus Maximus Formula
- Abit IX38-QuadGT
But i would personaly buy a P35 board

Your psu is going to be overkill if your only gonna use one gfx

buy the 8800GT or new GTS ^^^^^^

Why do you buy the Q6600 if youre gonna change it next year?
would buy low dual core if youre going to upgrade in a few months
