Hello, I am new here so please bear with me. I just bought a board from a private party and the board won't boot at all. I did notice on the boards socket for the cpu that it looks like one pin is missing out of the socket on the same side as pin #1 just about in the middle of the socket. Is this normal? Is this a reserved pin hole or is board broken? The board was a unopened
box that was purchased at fry's.

This isn't my first board that I have ever installed but this is the first time I can't get it running. Are these ECS boards the bottom of the heap for quality control? When I plug in the aux 12v plug the system will run for around 30 seconds and then shut off.

I am thinking about going out and buying another motherboard today but I am trying all my options here before shelling anymore money out. I see a lot of posts about these boards not booting. So I am thinking about another brand.
thanks,
martinbr
