Does anyone know how to contact EA Games? 3 days ago I could play
Simcity 4 without difficulty. Now I can't! The game shuts down about 5
seconds after my region screen opens and Windows XP tells me there's
been a serious error with the message STOP 0X000000EA
THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078). I had downloaded a driver for
my Canon printer so I uninstalled it along with Java and some software
for my LG mobile. Basically everything I've put on this machine is now
gone yet I still can't get the game to work.

I've tried the US website (NO contact details available) and used
their "so-called" support page where I had to use drop down menus and
search to get an answer. Of course I got NOTHING even close to the
problem I'm having atm.

I tried the Australian page and they had an e-mail contact, which took
me back to the support page that I'd already been to and the phone
number, which is only good during business hours (besides I DO NOT
want to pay nearly $3 per minute to wait for some a***hole to anser).

thanks in advance

So how *do* you want to contact them? There's a number at the back of the
UK TS2U manual so there's probably one in the Ausie SC4 manual, if that
helps.

EA is short for Electronic Arts, a company based in Vancouver, BC,
Canada. I went to their site, and the Australian web site is through
the Asia link. If you contact them by e-mail through the following site
they could help you:

http://www.eagames.com/eaasia/index.htm

Just checked, no number just a key command summary. E-mail would do
fine. Mirc would be even better. But I refuse to pay $3/min for a
local call when I've spent Thousands on their games.

Thanks anyway

You don't need EA you need to see the page on the Microsoft help site below.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;293078

Error message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER

CAUSE
This issue may occur if the display driver is caught in an infinite loop
while it waits for the video hardware to become idle. This issue typically
indicates a problem with the video hardware or that the display driver
cannot program the hardware correctly.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, obtain and install the most current driver for your
video adapter, or replace your video card.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click Control
Panel, and then double-click Display.
2. On the Settings tab, click Advanced, and then click the
Troubleshoot tab.
3. Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to None, and then click to
clear the Enable Write Combining check box.
4. Click OK, and then click OK.

Note This procedure prevents the display driver from programming the
hardware incorrectly, but you may lose some display functionality and
performance. Although you can increase the hardware acceleration settings
higher than None to regain functionality and performance, these settings
increase the chance that the issue will occur again. For maximum stability,
leave hardware acceleration off.

MORE INFORMATION
This Stop error message may also occur in video adapter drivers that do not
represent a physical device. For example, this Stop error message may occur
in the virtual video adapter driver that is used by Symantec PCAnywhere. If
PCAnywhere is installed on a computer where this error message occurs, visit
the Symantec Web site to determine if there are any available fixes for your
version of PCAnywhere.

The third-party products that this article discusses are manufactured by
companies that are independent of Microsoft. Microsoft makes no warranty,
implied or otherwise, regarding the performance or reliability of these
products.

If this doesn't help try one of the Microsoft official public newsgroups
where they have lots of more qualified people to help.

Yes! I've been there. As I have already said, I wont pay $3/min for a
local phone call and there is NO e-mail link on their support page
that I can find.

I am, actually, aware of what EA stands for.
