Hello, I am just getting back into the computer building seen and I need help finding an appropriate PSU...Here are the parts I have chosen thus far:

ASUS P5E LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard
GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB
Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler
CORSAIR Dominator 2GB DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066
Intel Q6600 Retail - G0
HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s
Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid

I plan to overclock somewhat (~3GHzish) so which PSU would you recommend? Also, if you have any other suggestions as to my system build...by all means, I just put this together from the past 2 days of reading these forums and various sites...

Thanks in advance :D

Below is a short list of my preferences, in order of highest to lowest. These are all single rail solid PSUs, with plenty of 12V current. There are plenty of other good PSUs out there so this list is not exhaustive by any means. I'm sure others will post their preferences.

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610 12V @ 49A
CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 12V @ 41A
CORSAIR CMPSU-520HX 12V @ 40A
CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX 12V @ 33A

Here is a listing by quality, the list is not complete. Official XS Tiered PSU Manufacturer Brand Listing Phase III.

Nah, I'm too lazy to post others. Yours are perfect. That Silencer 610W is worth every cent.

@OP: I don't get the part about X38 + nVidia card. If you intend to use a single video card, get a P35 mobo. If you think you'll want to add a second video card later, get an HD 3870 card so you can Crossfire. If you want more performance and can afford to pay more, get the 8800 GTS G92 but change the motherboard to a P5N32-E SLI Plus for example, so you can add another 8800 GTS later. The Silencer 610W will support these dual-card scenarios.
