I recently upgraded my processor from a athlon 3500 to a x2 4200. Heres my problem, when I try to run everest or hmonitor, my pc freezes, if I'm playing music it will do a skip glitch repeat kinda thing. Pressing cntl alt del doesn't do anything. There are no blue screens or anything.

I haven't put this puzzle together yet, so, heres some of the other things that are no doubt related..

I got a failed to do something cmos error. I had to reset the bios setting twice before it stopped doing this. I have heard this is caused by a bad cpu or a dead battery.

My pc was turned off and unplugged for two weeks, maybe the battery had to charge again?

I have tried everything to get this thing to crash, but the only thing that will do it is using those temp gauge programs.

If anyone has any idea wtf is going on, please post. Thanks.
