I have been trying to connect a printer(Brother HL2140, epson tf300 and Lexmark z series) All have failed. In the process, whilst downloading the drivers from the CD’s, I get a messages saying "spoolsv has encountered a problem and needs to close" I then connect printer as requested and get another message saying " operation could not be completed. print spooler is not running" I go to services.msc and click start for this service. I then get an "error message 1053 saying the service could not respond". I have the following error message in the log: Faulting application spoolsv.exe, version 1.0.0.3, faulting module spoolsv.exe, version 1.0.0.3, fault address 0x000010ca.
I have a samsung n140 netbook running xp home
Please advise how this can be fixed Thanks
