What would be the better choice for a friend's who wants to upgrade his am2 pc from a low end Athlon X2? Obviously the 6400 is way faster stock but the 5000 is pretty much garuanteed to oc to at least 3 ghz. I don't think the difference in price matters to him more just which is the smarter buy. Thanks.

by conventional wisdom, the 5000 is the better buy, but its a question of whether or not a little bit more performance matters to your friend (although, if my memory serves correctly (i'm not checking - too lazy :P) the 5000 and 6400 come very close when OC'd)
