HOW TO CHECK IF LAPTOP HARDWARE IS CURRUPTED

DVD/CD ROM not showing up on my computer/BIOS/Disk Manager-not recognised and not working.

Primary HD self test shows the sttus as:# 10008 - Replace Hard Disk.

At times system does not boot, light and fan comes on and then goes off..

Will boot only after it rsts for some time.

Well, you already checked, and it is. It may be your drive controller on the motherboard is bad, but that's not as likely as just issues with the drives themselves.

Repace the hard-drive, re-install Windows. The longer you put that off, the greater chance you have of the original one just dying on you, taking your files with it to it's grave.

Also reseat the optical drive, if that does not work, try another one.

If those 2 did not fix the issues, you need to look at replacing your motherboard which is quite a bit more pricy.
