I am thinking about upgrading my 7900GTX to an 8800GT to gain more FPS in games like Call of Duty 4. I worry about my Processor holding the card back.

I'd be running CoD4 and most games at 1280x1024, with as much of the eye candy turned on.

Any CPU bottleneck will be extremely minor at that resolution with all the eye candy enabled.

got the 8800gt and got a dual core opteron 175 @2.2ghz(stock) no problems whatsoever.i play cod 4 and medal of honor airborne @ 1280x1024 with everything turned on crysis gives me great framerates(30-40) @ 1024x768 with everything set to high.

I have a S939 X2 3800+ @2.4GHz and I don't feel the bottleneck with my 8800GT.
