Hello, I have searched, but cannot find if My Web Search Installer.exe is malicious. It has been chosen by Rapport as a threat - and I've quarantined it. It's come up several times now. Is it really malicious in some way? Thanks.

More about : web search installer exe

I've always thought of it as malicious and have been removing it from people's machines for years now. It pretty much is just a search engine that slows down your web browser with annoying ads. So it's a good idea to go ahead and get rid of it.

[#0005ff]I wholly agree with h83r - it's a pest and probably malicious and so are the Funweb products that come with it. Since Rapport from Trusteer was probably given to you or recommended by your Bank, you can take its word on anything it says is a threat to your security. That said, it's a pain in the neck in itself because it slows your system and surfing down considerably.[/#000ff]

Hi, it is considered an adware and it is recommended that you delete Mywebsearch.

What a con-artist - $112 to get rid of a bit of rubbish that's not even worthy of the name malware? Reported.
