Ok just built up this rig with EVGA 780i mobo OCZ reaper 1066 4gb and this Intel q6700 CPU. So im in the process of troubleshooting why its unstable when i use both 2gb ram sticks than just one (switching sticks are fine). Noticed that there is a BIG difference between the Vcore I ser in the BOIS from wats being desplayed in CPUz so Im thinking thats the problem. I try to set it to 1.25 and it barelt hits 1.2v for my 3.0ghz overclock.

Whats the stock voltage for the q6700 chip at stock 2.66ghz?

Whats been the mean voltage for q6700 at 3.0ghz?

So far im runnin 1.306v and CPUz has it were i was wanting it at 1.26v. Is its still too low or right now on avergage? Having a hard time finding the "Stock" voltage info on google. Thanks!

Okay, start here. Down Load Core Temp and list the VID field here. That will help me estimate where your VCore needs to be fore a given speed. Also, the VID is the stock VCore Bios setting for that processor.

VID is also displayed in Real Temp 2.5 http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/

stock voltage is different on each model within the q6700 model individually.
You'll have to run prime95 or other load program at the higher clock speed...and test all 4 cores with error checkin for a couple of hours and note if the voltage is enough for stability at 3.0ghz.

That processor should hit 3.0 without much additional voltage.
the actual 780i cpu voltage will be approximately .04 to .05 lower to the setting you choose in the bios

for 3.0ghz with that chip .05v+ over the default auto setting in the bios should be adequate
