Laptop downloads and video streaming EXTREMELY slow

I've been struggling with this problem for about 2 years now. My laptop works completely fine, I have great virus protection, no malware, im cool. For some reason though videos take FOREVER to load on any website, and when I try to download something that is small it takes an hour plus most times. I've tried video acceloraters, download acceloraters, cleaning out my history, pretty much everything but nothing seems to work. I have plenty of disk space and when I go on my schools network my computer works fine. The wireless router we have at my house works fine for the other computer (good internet speed, download speed, videos load fine) but for some reason my laptop just doesn't work right.

What is the spec of your wireless on the laptop b,g,or n?

If you purchase a g or n adapter you will quite a bit of improvement!
