I currently have

e6400 OC @ 3.1ghz
abit ab9
corsair 2gb 8500
xfx 6600
zalman 7500
1x HDD
1x optical
1x fdd
a number of fans and lights

And im running it on a 480 Hyper type-R

Now im thinknig of upgfrading my 6600 to an 8800GT. Do you think my 480w psu will handle it?? Im pretty certain im going to upgrade this.

Iv been told to look at the Corsair HX 520w, but would this be large enough for future upgradability??
(e.g. Quad core, SLi, OverClock GPU, RAID)

The hyper should actually be enough the 8800GT is not very power hungry

Dont underestimate the 520HX it will run your system with SLI 8800GT quite easily...

If you want something better look at 620HX corsair or PCP&C 750w series

They are also listed at Tier 4 here http://www.xtremesystems.org/forum [...] p?t=108088 and not recommended

You are looking at the wrong Mushkin PS. The new ones out are the enhanced version, which fall under the Tier T, at one point they were up to the Tier 2 brands. Just thought I would let you know.

Hmm. Interesting indeed, I guess it all depends on which website you look at. Anyhoo, my Mushkin runs pretty darn good. :hello:

Your Hyper PSU will power the 8800gt, but if your willing to spend now for a PSU upgrade, I'd go with the 520hx, PCP&P 610 Silencer, 620hx, or the 750w PCP&P PSU's, in order of price. The Antec 550w NeoHe would be about the equivalent as the 520hx, so you can decide what you want to do. Just remember to get a PSU with 1 x 8-pin EPS12V connector for the CPU power. This seems to be the newer CPU power standard, that is showing up more and more on mobo's.
