boot problem

my vista is "configuring updates 3 of 3 0% complete" then returns to microsoft corp with the dots going across a counter then back to "config. updates" any ideas on how to get out of this loop and get it to boot up properly?

Hi. start in safe mode and do a system restore to a date before you did updates, or in safe mode go to Programmes and features add/remove programs and uninstall the latest updates
