Mouse and page Jumping

Hello,
Today when working in word and outlook the page started jumping all over the place - even when i wasn't touching the mouse! I searched on the net and one suggestion was checking the mouse settings. I did this - didn't change anything though- but now the mouse is ridiculously slow. Between the jumping page and the slow mouse I am not getting much done. I am running Xp and haven't recently upgradedanything. Does anyone know what is causing thisand how I fix it?

I had a similar problem and it was the graphics driver that was at fault. After updating driver everything was fine
