Power cord to transfer info from laptop to hd tv and watch on tv

I'm wanting to watch photo slide show on hd tv coming from laptop computer

You don't want a "power" cord, you want a video cord.
Which one depends on the video out your laptop has, and the video in options your TV has. Look at the manuals for the two, you will find a match.

Get that type of cable, and plug in the TV to the out of the laptop, turn on the laptop, it will detect the TV as secondary display.
