Ok, I just have ~$35 to spend on one thing for my E2180 based PC, and I can't decide what to buy:

G.Skill 1GB DDR2 800 RAM: $25
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820231085
to get 2GB total RAM

XIGMATEK HDT-S963: $25 -$10 MIR = $15
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6835233001
to replace the OCZ Vanquisher since it reaches up to 70C some times on Prime95 full load.

ZALMAN CNPS7000B: $28 + $4 for LGA775 converter = $32
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6835118118
to replace the OCZ Vanquisher since it reaches up to 70C some times on Prime95 full load.

I'm going to Vote for the extra RAM. Although I'm all for lowering your CPU temperatures, hopefully your system doesn't run at 100% all the time when you're using it.

Secondly, if you're using Windows XP you really want 2GB of ram anyhow. If you're using Vista, you'd better have 2GB or more from what I hear.

So far general agreement is on RAM. Yes, I do have XP x64/Linux so I can use 4GB+. This PC is not for gaming, but rather for OCing, hacking/modding games/linux,etc.

Quick question: I might load Foldings@Home on this rig. So how much temp increase can I expect? Will F@H stress the CPU as much as SmallFFT on Prime95?

Did you mean Xigmatek S-1283 or are you running with space constraints.

The E2180 doesn't need the S-1283. The S963 is more than enough.

Yes, sadly this PC dose have space constraints, mainly because it's a Mid-Tower and the PSU is very close to the HSF. I will be ordering RAM + XIGMATEK HSF tonight.
