Wrong Power Supply?

Hello,

I am building a computer at the moment and ran into a problem.
My motherboard has a 24-pin pwr1 slot and the plug from the power supply is only a 20-pin.
Also my motherboard has a 8-pin pwr2 slot and all I see from the power supply is a 4-pin and a 6-pin plug.
Can I just stick those in anyway or do I need to go get a new power supply?

Thanks

List the specs.

I'm guessing you're talking about the 8-pin cpu power connector, usually at the top-left corner of the mobo by the cpu socket. If there's a cover on the other half of the 8-pin, you can plug in a 4-pin cpu power cable. Otherwise, see the manual in the cpu install section or board layout. If it requires an 8-pin, then get a 4-to-8pin adapter.
