How to upgrade bios from cd

Hello,my pc not booting from external cd rom,its still hanging while set up is starting windows.in google serched and tried everything...bt its still not working...only solution i have is to update bios....how to do this?problem is that os corrpted and os not booting...so
can u plz tell the solution?

Updating the BIOS may not solve your problem. Try Entering BIOS at POST and verify that the first boot device is the external CD (you must have the external CD drive plugged in and powered on for the BIOS to find it at POST).
