Is there a good fan controller out there that can control 8 fans?

Also are there any temperature readers that take their readings from the motherboard BIOs instead of probes?

Directron has a 6 way Zalman fan controller for $25 under "quiet pc, parts for", plus others with 4 adjustments. I use their "fan mate II" for all my cpu fans.

I did find this:

Sunbeam Theta Software Fan Controller TP101

I use the Zalman 6 fan controller, it is nice enough for me. Also came with wires/headers to plug in to the MB fan to get RPM reading. I never did hook them up simply because of wire cludder... . o O (ya... i was lazy, and still am)

I had found that Sunbeam one earlier but I read some reviews that there are problems that I would not want to deal with.

I did find another Sunbeam product which may be enough:

Sunbeam Chromatic Windmill.

One more question: Does the motherboard control the CPU fan, or is it just displaying the RPMs and the fan is on high constantly?

That'll let you control your fans alright...10w per channel for a total of 70W. Just to let you know you can have more than one fan on each channel as long as you don't overload it past 10W.

The motherboard controls the CPU fan just like any other fan, unless you have that feature disabled. It will speed up the fan, or slow it down, depending on the temp, which usually can be programmed in the bios.
