It is a 400 GB drive, and I only formatted it to the max windows can handle without service pack 2, so I am not sure if that could have anything to do with it. I have a disk that I streamed service pack 2 on now so I can fix it if that is the problem. I am just not sure if this is normal, can be fixed by formatting the full drive, or if I should RMA it before I can't anymore. The reason I thought it could be the smaller than actual disk size format is because system mechanic is still reading it as it's full size and I assume running the tests based on that.

I think I would not take a chance and return it. But...
Go to the Seagate suport site. I think you can download a diagnostic program that is specific to their equipment. See if you get the same type of error with their diagnostic.
