Please recommend a 3.5 internal SATA enclosure for a desktop computer that does not have a direct connection with the hard drive itself. Many of the hard drive enclosures that I have seen seem to show that the hard drive have to be directly connected to the wires inside the case. I need one priced about $35 or less and is sturdy.
I find that by using my internal hard drive as an external drive that direct connection can weaken the connections on the hard drive itself thus damaging the hd.

i think i understand what your after, you want a caddy which has internal connections so your not plugging directly into the harddrive, well, if thats the case then most enclosures should fit the bill as usually you dont plug into the drive itself when using it with the caddy, you plug the drive into the caddy, and then plug the caddy into the pc.
ok my brain is finding it hard to follow this, erm, do you want to have this drive external, as in sitting on your desk? or still internal, as in sitting inside your tower?
