sigh, well gang with the delay of the Q9450s i am going to need something to run my rig.

I do not want to spend more than $200 and at the momment i'm debating to get the E6750 for $190 oced to 3.0 ghz or get the E2160 for $84 oced to 3.0 ghz.

I really don't know much about FSB or Cache, and i just wanted to see if theres that big of a difference to where it would be nessary for me to spend double the money.

Any feedback would be great guys :D ,

Thanks

The E6750 can go much much farther than 3.0ghz. If you're only going to take it to 3.0ghz, get the E2160. Then again, since you're planning to use it as a tide-over CPU, get the E2160

Yeah, E2160 is the way to go for two or three months.

There is no such thing as a stupid question.

According to this the release date now is January 20 and if this is true and you have to get something for the next month the 2160 is the way to go

But according to this article (same site, more recent post)
http://www.digitimes.com/mobos/a20071218PD212.html

they're delayed until February or March.

Personally, I'd go with the cheap processor. But you're unlikely to lose a bunch of money on the other one, if you chose to eBay it or something when your ship (chip) finally comes in.

:( Wonder if Intel is running into manufacturing problems of some sort or if there is a mobo issue. Not sure their explanation makes sense, they could lower the price of the 65mm and drive the stake deeper into AMD unless they're afraid AMD won't survive. Don't think it's to Intel's benefit for AMD to go belly up. The 6730 might make sense to see how this plays out
