Why does my new memory keep beeping when i insert it

i have dell pc...i bought new memory for it wken i inserted it ...it keeps beeebing ...it is the correct memory for the pc ...can you help please

It's either defective, or incompatible.

What model Dell do you have? What kind of RAM did you get?
