per advice this is where i am now....

PSu- 750 watt THermalTake Tough Power
CPU- Intel COre 2 Duo E6850 2x3.0 ghz 4mb L2 cache 1333 FSB
Mobo- Asus P5E Intel X38 Crossfire chipset 7.1 sound
Ram- 2048{1024MBX2} DDR2 1066 Corsair Dominator
VideoCard- Nividia GeForce 8800GT 512MB W Dvi+Tv out
HD- 1-- WD Raptor 150GB 16M Cache 10,000 RPM
2-- 320 GB Sata 3GB 72000 RPM 16M Cache
Monitor- HannsG 28inch HG281DPB Monitor

any thoughts or comments are appreciate as I am novice...

1066 ram? if your not overclocking you dont need it. you can almost get 4gb of 800 for the price of 2gb 1066

What the hell monitor is that? never heard of it. quick google reveals it maybe ok... but definetly 6bit TN panel and the pixel pitch is HUGE

Why are you getting an X38 (Crossfire Board) with an Nvidia (SLI) GPU?

I'd say either swap the motherboard for a P35-DS3 series or swap the GPU for a HD3870.

Listen to chookman about the ram too.

The 6850 is an overpriced underperformer (same can be said for the Raptor). Get a 6750 and OC the difference or get a Q6600 for the same price. Echo the DS3 series and RAM ...
