AMD Windsor 6000+

Are the stock heatsink and fan that come with this chip sufficient to cool the chip adequately?

Assuming I'm not going to do any overclocking on the processor?

Thanks

  1. If you don't plan on overclocking, you should be ok. You can check your temps through your bios. If they are high, then you may want to invest in an after market fan.
  2. This might be a stupid questions...well it is, but what is "high"?

If your CPU is going over 60C on a full load (something like Prime95 across all cores) then your system would be running hot. If you hit over 65C then the system is simply running too hot and you need better cooling.
