Sound?

Last night a friend of mine assembled his new computer. Everything went well but no sound. The front audio port doesnt work and the rear one that is hardwired to the motherboard wont work either. Any idea's? Bad motherboard?


I just remembered we did not install the drivers to the motherboard (although it seems like it would still work). I will try that.

Ok here's where it gets weird.. Realtek HD Audio Manager now detects that the speakers are plugged in and even plays sound through them.. then when I try to play music or any other sound through my computer it doesnt work.. It's like it isn't routing the sound through the port or something.
