Prices are coming down now on the HDTivos and was considering buying one. I
have read the issues with the HDMI interface on the Hughes but hopefuly
nothing that a good warranty wouldn't cover.

Aside from that, are there any appreciable differences in picture quality
and/or performance with the Hughes? My display is a 42" NEC plasma and will
be using the HDMI to DVI converter. Most all the HD programming we watch is
OTA programming.

Can anyone comment on the image quality or other differences on the Hughes
Tivo?

TIA

I have an HR10-250 and get HD signals OTA. Unfortunately, I have
nothing to compare it with, but I am very happy. There is a problem in
Pittsburgh in that one station is about 80 degrees away from all the
others and the digital signal cannot be received without moving the
antenna. However, that is not really the receiver's problem.

I paid $700 for the unit and it did have a bad HDMI port. DirecTV
replaced it and the new unit is fine.
