Hi all :)
well because my HP printer isnt supported by XP64 and i need it , so i changed from XP 64 to XP 32, and 3328MB of RAM is recognized from 4096MB, so how much do u think i will loose performance in games and apps ?
thx

eh. Marginal. I think you'll be fine.

What kind of printer is it?

Edit: Although, you also have to consider the performance hit from losing 32bits on OS apps and background processes. Hmm..

Id buy a new printer. :)

You will instead run faster: XP64 is in average 15-20% slower than the 32 bit version ad also cosumes almost double the memory.
And absolutely no game nor applications under Windows use 64bit, only DBs and some exotic 3D modeling SW.

Only *nix has a good background of REAL 64bit applications.

Im not sure that is correct. Every OS service and process is coded to work with 64bit. You will notice that any process that is running 32 bit has a *32 next to it. Which is proof of my statement.

That *should increase performance. No?

I just switched from XP64 to XP32 because of printer support as well, but I've got a canon MP500. Canon has better driver support in XP32 compared to XP64. Anyway, I play the same games (CoD4, HL2, MoH:Airborne, Hellgate:London) and run all the same apps and the performace is exactly the same.

This is contrary to my experience. XP64 is 15-20% slower than XP32? Double the memory? What?!?!

I wish people would stop posting misleading, completely unsupported posts like this.

I may be a newbie, but this just seems totally inaccurate to me.

I'm not necessarily saying you're wrong, but please.. give us a link or reference or something to back up your claims.
