I'm buying a Q6600 and a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R and want to OC the hell out of it. I have good confirmation that NewEgg is shipping OEM Q6600s with GO stepping so I want RAM that will allow for good overclocking. Pretty much I'm sticking with 4GB of OCZ here's what it's down to:

4GB of PC8000 5-5-5-18

or

4GB PC6400 4-4-3-15

or

4GB PC6400 4-4-4-15

If I get one of the more expensive sets I'll buy this CPU cooler

If I get the cheaper RAM I may go with watercooling.

Any thoughts on which will yield the highest OC/performance?

I am having the same dilema, but for a Q9300 (1333Mhz FSB). I know about the RAM to FSB frequency ratio, but never seem to know the real impact.

Should I get:
■800Mhz memory and run it @ 666Mhz (2:1 ratio);
■800Mhz memory and run it normally (800:1333 ratio ~3:5);
■1Ghz memory and run it normally (2:3 ratio).
Something I'm pretty sure of is that the gain of the 4-4-3-15 modules isn't worth the extra $$$.

First of all DDR2 800 (6400) doesnt have alot of difference with DDR2 1066(8500) also the DDR2 800 RAM u posted has better timings than the DDR2 1066 one

definitely go for the second one because it has 4-4-3-15 or the last one which has 4-4-4-15 (4-4-4-15 and 4-4-4-3-15 doesnt have alot of difference)

also as u see i have both OCZ REAPER RAM + OCZ VINDICATOR and they are solid :)

I say get two of these as the pairs are out of stock and if you get them back to back they should be damn near the same ones any way. This is what I have mine running at.

$90 you can't beat that and they have been in the game for a long time they are a big name in memory. They supply alot of chips to other manies.
I know my 3dmarks are low. I was having issues with my video card kicking into 3d mode. I fixed it now. "DAMN VISTA" :)

they fitted without any probs on my board, here are some screenshots:
