My entire system halts during a http request, it doesn't do it all the time but about 1 in 10 requests will halt my system, regardless of browser. This started happening after i switched motherboards, I now have a biostar tf560 and I was able to replace my older asus 939 board without reinstalling windows XP. I'm using the onbaord realkTek nic on the tf560.
I removed all my old drivers and installed the new ones from the biostar website, except for the nic driver. As it told me that it was only for windows 98se even though it was listed as windows xp on the biostar website. So I found the xp driver else where and installed that. I've tried 3 different versions.
I have a hard time believing this is a hardware issue because downloads and online gaming all work perfectly. It's only http requests that halt my entire system and I'm forced to cut the power. I'm stumped, any one have any idea what can be causing this strange behavior?
