ok ima make this short so youcan understand

-Computer doesnt post
-called tech support
-got replaced mobo
-ran system destructive recovery
-windows still didnt boot up
-called tech again
-replaced old hd
-ran system recovery again still didnt work
-he left with my old hd since we got replacement
-hes gonne be back round friday

now heres my question i had ran the destructive system recovery on the old hd but he took that with him. im worried that he might try to recover the files from it. should i be worried? or am i safe since i deleted the files from it.

depends on the company, most plug them in for some sort of test - this normaly involves a full read/wright and format to see if the disk can be used again or sold as "B grade"

I cant see why they would bother to crawl through files.

So what you hidding on it?

I cant think of any way they could if you ran the process on the entire disk - even if they did you would need much more data to get into any secure webpage even more for online banking
