Laptop FSB and memory question

Let's say i have a T7800 processor and i have 667 Mhz ddr2 ram and everything works fine... then i decide to change to 800Mhz ddr2 ram. I don't have FSB to DRAM ratio settings in the BIOS so what happens? I am sure they won't be run at 667 presumably i have a 800 Mhz capable MB and CPU so somthing is setting the correct settings.

Is it during the startup that the BIOS checks the SPD on the DIMMs and than sets the according FSB:DIMM ratio?
