E6750 runs slightly faster (2.66Ghz vs. 2.13Ghz), and have double the size of L2 cache.

Personally I would recommend E6750.

6750 is kind of a 6400 with a 1333 bus and more cache. the 6400 would clock to the same speed by changing the fsb to 1333, so if cost is a factor, the 6400 can be made to be the same speed, basically.

nevermind, the 6400 is more expensive! go with the 6750, as long as your motherboard can handle the fsb (965, 975, 650, 680, p35 ect.)

bus makes the differnece the higher the bus the better mobo you need and less you can overlock in many applications

while true if there are different multipliers, that is not the case here. both would overclock the same in this case.

The E6400 was obsolete when they released the E6420:

More cache for the same price. Then, when they introduced the E6x50 series, they made all of the older 266FSB parts obsolete by setting them at at lower price. Due to the same multiplier on both chips, they'll likely reach the same clock speeds, but factor in cost and only the E6750 makes sense.

the 50 series in general should OC a tad higher then its older counter parts with the same multi because they are on a newer stepping.
