I have had similar symptoms before that were caused by the keyboard. In one case, it was simple, the usb plug had become a bit unseated, making the keyboard unresponsive. In another case, the keyboard went bad, and needed to be replaced. If you can, check out that scenario before assuming that your mobo is bad. Also check out all other connections to be certain that other spurious signals are not causing the problem.

i was thinking that it may have been the keyboard and i vaguely remember other computers not starting because of it having no keyboard but i didnt think about it too hard...i was gonna use my sisters keyboard but was to lazy to move the comp and unplug it....also if the usb is "unseated" will it not work until i fix it and is there a way to fix it

nope...i tried my keyboard in all the usb slots, even the front, and it didnt work.i also used a nonUSB keyboard and it didnt work...any other reasoning for it not working or was my guess pretty dead on

Perhaps your CPU is overheating? Check the heatsink and fan and make sure it's properly seated.Re-apply the thermal paste if necessary.Good luck.

Unhook all of your drives, cd and hd, and all USB devices and see how far you get. Also try taking out your RAM and re-seating it in the slot but put back 1 stick only. Try a CMOS reset.
