I posted this in the New System Build Forum and got no response so hopefully this is a better spot.

I will be building my first PC soon as I've ordered the parts for the system below:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 LGA 775
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
RAM: Crucial Ballistix 4GB (2 x 1GB) SDRAM DDR2 800
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar SE16 750 GB 7200 rpm
Graphics: Diamond Radeon HD 3850 256MB
Power Supply: Corsair CMPSU-520HX 520W
Drives: Samsung 20X DVD Burner
Case: RAidmax Smilodon Extreme Black ATX Mid Tower
OS: Windows Vista Premium

I've never messed with BIOS before so I need some help in making sure I have the correct settings. If most of the default settings are fine then I'll leave it alone.

I know that, at a minimum, I need to set date and time and adjust the boot priority so that I can load Vista.

The default settings should work but agree with evongugg, read the manual
