I have Corsair DDR2-800 w/ timings printed on the side of 4-4-4-12.

This is what CPU-Z SPD tab shows:

This is the same timings listed in Lavalys Everest Ultimate.

1. Why do both of these programs list the SPD timings from memory as 270MHz and 400MHz?
2. Why don't either of these correspond w/ the advertised prices?

Thanks,
Don

These are the default settings for JEDEC specs. So that the memory will boot in any motherboard at default voltage.

Check your memory specs. It should state what voltage you need to run at the better timings. Probably arround 2.1 or 2.2 volts.
After you have checked, go into your bios and manually set the voltage and timings to advertised specs.
Now save and reboot and you are good to go.
