I'm planning a new build based on an Asus P5E LGA775 motherboard, an Intel Q6600 CPU, anASUS 8800GT with 512 mb gddr3 and Vista ultimate32 bit. Question: would 2 gig of DDR2 1066 be better relativley than 4 gig of DDR2 800? Also, any Ideas onhow big of a power supply I would need ?

definitely, the 1066 is not worth the price difference for 2 reasons: 1. the performance increase is tiny at best. 2. good DDR2800 will overclock to 1066 anyway.

I would like to see that ddr2 800 run at what my ddr2 1066 can run at. I run mine at 1280 5,4,4,10 + All my other settings are tight as hell to. I can get 47ns response time from my ddr2 1066 at those speeds lets see some links of five or more people with no extra special cooling getting those speeds and timings with ddr2 800. Besides you can get 2gbs for $90 right now of ddr2 1066 crucial ballistix.

What timings though,, I'm not bashing 800 it's just every one says they are exactly the same,, I beg to differ. They have to atleast be a little diff. you know.

You wont even notice a difference between 800 and 1066 really. If you can up the voltage just a bit with the mhz.. you really want to get the timings as tight as you can. Like truehighrollers... 5 4 4 10 is nice.

Timings are more key then the mhz I run 4-4-4-10 at 800 mhz and it is very nice speed.
