i'm having a bit of a problem deciding on a processor*help :)
E6550 costs like 230usd and E4550 costs around 160usd (i'm not living in US,jst converted the currency rates)
so is it worth the money to go for a 6550,i read on da forum that it'll need higher speed memory to overclock it...Btw bout this memory thingy,if i use two 1gig 667 modules on dual channel wud that mean i'l get 1333 memory speed(maybe a stupid question but i'm really lost here)
some help guysss wuts da best choice

Go for the E4500. That, and a great P35 chipset board from ASUS or Gigabyte and 2GB of DDR2-800 (or 667) memory will make an excellent system.

The E6550 has a 7X multiplier, so it's a lot harder to overclock. The E4500 has an 11X multiplier, so you don't need to push the FSB to insane speeds to reach a 3GHz or higher clockspeed. With good air cooling such a CPU will easily clock to at least 3.2GHz.

Using two 1GB sticks of DDR2-667 memory in dual channel mode gives you enough memory bandwidth for a 1333mhz FSB. With an E4500 you won't push the FSB that far (1200mhz FSB will give you a nice 3.3Ghz clock speed) so that ram would be more than enough. If you went with the E6550 you would want 800mhz memory, since the E6550's FSB is 1333mhz at stock speeds.

hey thanx for da quick reply :)
i'm thinking of getting a P5K E or P5K SE board,i'm not sure bout da second one but p5k e looks like a pretty darn good board with all the positive reviews :D
so how far do you think that i'll be able to push the e4500 with the stock cooler and no core voltage change..
