Usb devices in Vista

Hello,
all my usb devices stopped working properly but i am still able to charge devices.they just are not recognized . any ideas or check list i could use to get them working again?

USB Switching

Sorry, I can't help with above, but I have another problem.

I want to switch two cameras (back and forth) through one USB port. My Vista doesn't like TWO identical cameras with the same device name up at the same time, so I am considering a USB switch that will allow me to remotely capture an image with one camera and then the other. I am photographing a book and both cameras are fixed on the opposing pages and shutters are released remotely.

My question is: Will the Vista machine tolerate an interruption of milliseconds without requiring a reboot of the device?
