AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache
CORSAIR XMS 2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 - PC6400
Just get the one that sells for as close to $250 as possible, then overclock yourself. You will not void the warranty by doing so as EVGA covers overclocking under their warranty, as long as you register the card on their site.
50 bucks isn't worth the difference in fps when you can overclock it yourself without voiding the warranty imo.
Make sure you have 26a or more combined on the +12 volt rail(s).
I'm assuming your machine is purchased from Dell or a retail outlet? If that's the case you may end up having to buy a new psu as well. If you bought your psu seperately you should probably know already, otherwise it's in the manual or whatever paperwork it came with. Like wise, whatever manual came with your computer system should have the psu specifications in it. Make sure you have the necessary amperage (combined on both rails is correct) and enough watts.
The plain-Jane $259 version O/Cs to 700 core 1950 mem 1750 shader out of the box with RivaTuner. Could probably go higher but I couldn't be bothered. I don't know how much room - if any - there is to O/C the SSC version, but can't imagine it's worth $60 more.
I dropped a Zalman VF900cu I had from an old 7950GT on it and the temps dropped from 58 to 38 C. at idle. Why on Earth would eVGA put such a crappy (and LOUD) cooler on it?
