yeah, HD2600XT or 8600GT is about the best you can hope to do for $80 and that will be after a rebate. A step down would be the 7600GT, X1650GT, and 2600 pro ...all about $80ish without rebate and a bit less AR. X1950GT's can be found for under $100 AR.

The X1950 pro or 8600GTS would be better but more like $120 AR. And if you go that high, then the HD3850 totally destroys them for just a bit more. Sold out online, but you may find one in a store:

The 7600GT is pretty close to the 8600GT and can be had for about $70AR. Not a bad deal and should work OK for those resolutions.

Just be sure to get a DDR3 variety.
I don't recall seeing any DDR2 varieties, but some cheap cards try and pull that.

You just could not believe price of those cards in my country.
8600gt--- 165 $
now you can just imagine the price of 8600gts & 1950pro.
How about,
7600gs-- 90$
all are DDR2

If I add another 1GB ram will it be helpful?

Where exactly do you live?, because those are really high prices, I mean...geez. :\

As far as the extra stick of 1GB of ram, it will be helpful to your computer overall, but not exactly just for gaming.. (I may be mistaken though..)

yeah DDR2 and DDR3 have a really big difference in performance but Im not sure if an extra gig will compensate.

And also big difference in price!
I mean, if I add another gig will it be improve my whole peformance? I'm confused about that bcoz of my only 1.8Ghz processor and 1MB L2. Does dual channel DDR have any difference from single channel?

You will also see a big benefit if you get a different motherboard that allows you to overclock the cpu

Ouch, that's aweful. Rule out the X1600 pro as it's slower than the 7600GS and costs more. A 7600GS is about like a X1650 pro GDDR3. An X1600 pro is about liek a 6600GT. I'd think the 7600GS would usually beat the 8500GT, although not by much overall. Anyway, of those cards, the 7600GS, but don't expect too much.

hello everybody,
if I wait a month for HD3850, will it worth?
My psu and processor will satisfy HD3850?
