Hello everybody,

I want a new motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R, but is a P35-DS3P worth the extra 25 bucks when I install the new HD3870X2 ?

And is a CM Real Power Pro 520 watt psu strong enough or what other psu should I get ?

My budget for a new psu lays around 80 bucks.

Thanks in advance, Jojo

Well, I do want to have 2 HDD´s in RAID0, so with a DS3P the raid0 is not so good ?

The DS3P costs 25 bucks more than a DS3R.

I find the raid0 more important than a double gpu card, so I should better go for a DS3R ?

question:
the 8800GT and GTS (g92) isn't available anywhere so i thougt i go for a 3870x2, but is this a smart thing to do with a p35-ds3r or should i order a different motherboard ?
budget for a motherboard lays around 125 bucks.

I'm not sure I understand you right... YOu said the G92 8800GT and GTS arent available anywhere? You must be in Europe or something?
If you can order from American e-tail like newegg.com then you will see plenty of options.
How much are you willing to spend? The 3870X2 is a lot more than an 8800GT. I would be happy with a 8800GT if I were you.

Im from holland and here everyone wants a 8800 GT(s).
when some store gets some of these, there gone in a matter of minutes :(

i hope the 3870x2 will be around a 350 bucks, then i will be interested.

by the way, i can't find corsair VX 550 watt in the tier list.
only the corsair HX.

I just read somewhere that de P35-DS3R does not work with corsair VX 550 because the PSU is 20 pins and the motherboard needs a 24 pins.
So i'm going for the CM Real Power 520.

Now, i just have to wait till my E8400 comes in, and then i'm going to order a 8800GT.
I'll just go for the cheapest one, since a overclocked version only gives like 10% more power. so theoretically it means 5 more frame per second.

A 3870X2 will be more than that... more along the lines of 500+

then i hope i can get my hands of one of those 8800 GT's :)

what you guys think: is a overclocked version of the 8800GT like the TOP version of asus and the evga ssc worth the extra bucks since it only gives 10% more power ?
