I tried to do a quick search (on the forums) and didn't come up with anything, pretty much just wondering this. I have an older motherboard that just supports sata 1.5gb. If you got a sata 3gb/s hard drive would it work with the motherboard? The thing is its just hardto find sata 1.5 at a decent price. Anyways just wondering, im sure its a stupid question but just curious.

yes it should work fine. my seagate hard drive came with a jumper that limited it to 1.5gb's (even though it was rated at 3gb's) and i just had to pop that out to get the 3gb's. you can probably just leave the jumper in.

ps. i have the seagate 7200.10 250gb.

No problem. glad to help
