    :hello:

Kindly I ask your attention. :D

Could you be so kind and let us know what the brand and type of laptop you have?

You forgot to mention it, :o .

That's ok, just edit your question and we will look for it on the net.
What you are looking for is the brand name like Dell/HP and so on, than you need to look for a model name (if any) like Expirion and the model/type number like 1554 or something like that or a name with letters and/or numbers like AA098245 pr 23459AA.

    OK? :D

If you have the information we need, you could do the same as we will do:

Start your browser, search with different search engines and use different phrases:

    (Brand/model/number) specs

Than you will find links that will give you a website with specifications about your laptop. Than you can see if it has or not a cam onboard.

    If not, let us know.

If it has, let us know too and we will look into it and try to find the best answer! :D

If you have an cam onboard, you should be able to find it ad Hardware.

Left click on Start, right click on My Computer or Computer, left click on Proportions and than a window will appear. Ad the left you will find on top Hardware Manager or similar to it, click on it and another windows will appear. Look ad Imaging Devices. See if there will be shown a hardware. If not, you have non installed or not recognized and not installed.

    Or,

    Click Start/Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Device Manager/Imaging Devices
and click on the “Driver” tab and select “Enable” to enable the webcam, from here you can update the driver if you like. The last part if you have the cam recognized by Windows, it will be shown and if not, Windows didn't recognize it.

If not, you might need to install another drivers and/or software, that comes from the cam provider/firm. Firmware it's cold.

And when I'm not mistaken, you can update your laptop ad the firms website. Look for Automatic (Driver) Update (Online) and it will happen automatically online.
You can't stop the process or you might regret it!

So, get that brand/model/type version information and try the online update and let us known what is and what you need. :D

When doing manual/yourself, try to find additional software concerning to the cam.
Sometimes they have extra software for free, doesn't mean best, but might come in handy and might cost some money when downloading it somewhere else or sort of. :D

Hopefully I let you known enough and that you will find the answers you seek! :D

Good luck and have fun doing it! :D

Hi, i have the same problem, mine is an asus R550c. ive looked online and it says it has one, however cant find it anywhere and when using skype the video doesnt work. i bought the computer new less than a month ago so it should be all up to date and everything.
  5. :hello:

Kindly I ask your attention. :)

The Windows version you use is Windows 7 x64?

To find out, click Start, right click My Computer, click Proportions and a window will open. Here you can find the Windows Type.

Here you will find Hardware Manager too ad the left upper corner. Click it and a new window will open, here you will find a list of hardware that is installed. I don't use a webcam, so try to find it. If it's pressent, right click it and click Proportions, now you can see if it's Active. If not, set it to active. Here you can do an online driver update too and a deinstall button. Make shore that you have an internet connection and give it a try. Restart your computer and give it a try. If that didn't do it, than deïnstall the driver and restart. Windows will try to install the driver automatically. When that has been done, do as before and go for a driver update.

    Answered previous:

    Click Start/Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Device Manager/Imaging Devices
and click on the “Driver” tab and select “Enable” to enable the webcam, from here you can update the driver if you like. The last part if you have the cam recognized by Windows, it will be shown and if not, Windows didn't recognize it.

    You can always go to:

    http://support.asus.com/download/options.aspx?SLanguage=nl-nl&type=1

Here you can do it online, there are three options to choos from. Take one you like.

If the Cam isn't pressent, go to:

    http://support.asus.com/download/options.aspx?SLanguage=nl-nl&type=1

Here you can find three options, one has an Automatic Detection. Use it and see what happens after a restart.

Remember, no matter how or what about installing on Windows, always restart. It's better and when an error accures, restart twice. Don't ask me how or what, sometimes it works better.

For more answers, you could start your browser.

Start your browser, search with different search engines and use different phrases.

    Dear aadhi1969,

    Kindly I ask your attention.

It could be a Windows issue, but that isn't certain. It could be a register issue or whatever.

What Operating System (like: Windows 7 x64) do you use?

I had that issue with Windows XP Pro Multi Langual x32, after a while some icons at Start and so, they just changed to a blank icon.

What is the software (like: Firmware ??, Version ?? and may be ??) that you have installed, to use the webcam?

    Is it working?
    Can you use it?

What is your laptop/nootbook (like: Brand, Version, Type,)?

When answered all, I could take a look on the net.
Now, I don't know 'How or What'.

It could be that it will take some day, before I can answer.
Saterday I will take a look at my email, and Monday or Wednesday.

Hopefully I let you known enough, that you will find the answers you seek! :)

Good luck & have fun doing it! :)

    'hello'

Well, you need to look on the net like we do, try different phrases:

How to find the webcam on my asus R550c?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4y0PUw0qXX4

    https://www.google.nl/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=How+to+find+the+camera+icon+on+the+asus+R550c?

And when you have it working, you could look at settings of the program, or at System Tray settings, for setting the icon.
Or you have to create a shortcut, you can create a map and put there the shortcuts of the program; program shortcut, Help shortcut; and so on. This map can be placed at Start/Programs, this can be done by right-clicking on the button Start, choose Show All Users, left or dubble left click on Programs and then you can place it anywhere you like.

I only can give you hints, nothing more. I need to see and try it myself I guess.

Hopefully I let you known enough, that you will find the answers you seek! :)

    Best Regards,
